In this lesson students will be comparing Phoenix, Arizona, with San Juan, Puerto Rico, and through doing this, they will have the opportunity to compare and contrast two communities and will see that even though there are some differences, we have many similarities.

The purpose of this lesson is for students to use their problem solvings skills to identify a problem in their community and act on a solution. A key outcome of this project is to help students see themselves as citizens and create future citizenship in our students for the good of the community.
