Cohort 2 Summer 2023
GeoCivics teachers, Janet from North Carolina and Tanisha from Tennessee, explore Puerto Rico!
The 2023 Academy place-based experiences explored the perspectives and unique history of U.S. Territories in American history, geography, civics, and government. Exploring Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, participants met with senators, historians, representatives from the EPA and NPS, conservation groups, classroom and museum educators, and visited historic locations and museums to deepen content knowledge of civics, geography, and social studies, and strengthen pedagogical knowledge and skills.

Fullbright is a yearlong professional learning opportunity and short-term exchange for elementary, middle, and high school educators from the United States to develop skills to prepare students for a competitive global economy. Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms equips educators to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted training, experience abroad, and global collaboration.
